Tattoo Care
I will apply SecondSkin (or Tegaderm) to your fresh tattoo before you leave the studio. Within the first 24 hours, you may notice plasma or fluid collecting under the bandage—this is completely normal.
Keep the SecondSkin or Tegaderm bandage on for a minimum of three days. During this time, avoid exercising or any activities that cause excessive sweating. Excess moisture can interfere with healing and increase the risk of infection.
After at least three days, you may remove the bandage. Gently lift a corner or edge of the film. If needed, use medical tape to help create a tab. Slowly peel the bandage back and across the skin, not straight up. Hold the skin tight as you remove it.
Mild redness around the tattooed area or where the adhesive contacted the skin is normal. If you experience any irritation directly on the tattoo, discontinue use immediately.
Wash the tattoo using warm water and a liquid antibacterial hand soap. Lather gently with clean hands only—do not use a sponge or washcloth. Rinse thoroughly and allow the tattoo to air dry.
Once completely dry, apply a thin layer of ointment provided or aquaphore. At this stage, it is safe for the tattoo to get wet, but avoid soaking. Apply ointment once per day for the next 7 days.

During the healing process, avoid sun exposure and long exposure to water.
Do not rebandage your tattoo
Do not pick or scratch your tattoo
Do not pick any scars or flakes.
Your tattoo should be fully healed approximately 14 days after removing the SecondSkin or Tegaderm.
Seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe pain, excessive redness, swelling, or pus-like drainage.
Once fully healed, always apply sunscreen when exposing your tattoo to the sun. Sun exposure is the leading cause of tattoo fading.
